About Eddie
We are sad to tell you that Eddie Askew OBE died peacefully on Thursday the 27th September following a stroke. Our sadness is alleviated by great joy that he is now celebrating in heaven and reunited with his wife, Barbara, who died earlier this year.
Eddie’s amazing life gives us much for which to be thankful. He has 17 books in print and has sold over a million copies of these titles. His books together with his paintings, calendars, cards and notelets have been widely enjoyed and have raised about £2.5 million for the work of the Leprosy Mission in hospitals and workshops abroad.
With his wife, Barbara, Eddie worked in India for fifteen years with The Leprosy Mission, a Christian medical charity. Later he became the charity’s International Director and travelled widely in five continents. He was awarded the OBE in the Queen’s 2000 Millennium Honours list, “for services to leprosy relief.”

His painting philosophy:
"If we are created in the image of the creator God we are created creative."
